Job Title: Cleaning Squad Lead 

We are looking for an experienced Cleaning Squad Lead to support cleaning validation and cleaning operations at a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Geel, Belgium. In this hands-on role, you’ll partner with local process owners to align current practices with industry standards and regulatory expectations. A strong background in GMP cleaning processes, risk-based validation, and project leadership is essential. This is a predominantly onsite role (80% minimum) in a highly regulated API manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise on cleaning validation, operations, and science-based risk management approaches.

  • Co-lead the site-wide upgrade of cleaning practices in line with FDA/EMA expectations and industry best practices.

  • Manage contractors and cleaning-related projects using structured project management methodologies.

  • Ensure compliance of all outputs and deliverables in close collaboration with QA counterparts.

  • Drive change management and facilitate sustainable implementation of new procedures.

  • Mentor and coach Local Process Owners (LPOs) to uplift technical expertise and operational maturity.

  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and influence without direct authority.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in equipment cleaning and cleaning validation within a GMP-regulated pharma manufacturing setting.

  • API manufacturing experience highly preferred.

  • Deep knowledge of FDA and EMA regulatory requirements related to cleaning, including practical application of risk-based validation strategies.

  • Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills.

  • Proven leadership in complex, dynamic environments.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience with coaching, training, and managing human-centered change.

  • Fluency in English (required); Dutch proficiency is a plus.

  • Able to work 80%+ onsite in Geel.
