For our client – a high-tech, fast-growing biotech startup company based in Groningen, The Netherlands – I am looking for a Technician – Electrophysiology to join their dynamic R&D team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to novel proteomics and metabolomics technologies through single-molecule electrophysiology.

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Technician with a background in biophysics or single-molecule techniques to join our dynamic team. The selected candidate will play a key role in our research and development efforts, contributing to the discovery and development of novel technologies in proteomics and metabolomics. As a Technician in Electrophysiology, you will be responsible for the electrical recordings of nanopores, measuring various analytes to develop our technology for a range of applications. The role also involves the characterization of nanopores using highly sensitive electrical measurements, and their use for the single-molecule detection of proteins and metabolites.


Key responsibilities:
  • Design and conduct experiments utilizing electrophysiological techniques to investigate and characterize analytes at the single-molecule level.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, and report findings to internal teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project goals and milestones.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of experimental protocols and methodologies.

Key requirements:
  • BSc or MSc education in biophysics, biomedical technology, life science, or a related field.
  • Preferably, hands-on experience in electrophysiology or related single-molecule techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Highly motivated, with a passion for scientific discovery and innovation.
