For an international organisation within the FMCG / consumer goods industry, we are looking for an experienced Commercial IT & Data Business Partner for an initial 9-month assignment.

This is a senior, business-facing position operating at the intersection of Commercial, IT and Data. You will act as the primary technology and data partner for local Sales, Marketing and Commercial Operations teams, translating business priorities into digital initiatives and ensuring local requirements are represented within European technology and product roadmaps.

The Role

As Commercial IT & Data Business Partner, you will build strong relationships with senior commercial stakeholders and develop a deep understanding of their business priorities, challenges and future requirements.

You will act as the bridge between the local commercial organisation and European technology teams, ensuring that business needs are properly captured, challenged, prioritized and translated into scalable digital and data solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the primary IT & Data point of contact for senior stakeholders across Sales, Marketing and Commercial Operations.
  • Building strong relationships with Commercial leadership to anticipate requirements and identify opportunities for digital improvement.
  • Capturing, qualifying and prioritizing local business demand across processes, technology and data.
  • Translating commercial challenges into clear IT & Data requirements and business cases.
  • Representing local business priorities within European technology governance and roadmap discussions.
  • Collaborating with European Product Teams and Product Owners to align local requirements with wider technology strategies.
  • Supporting the implementation and adoption of new commercial digital solutions, data platforms and applications.
  • Coordinating business readiness, stakeholder communication, training and subject-matter expert involvement during deployments.
  • Monitoring adoption, user satisfaction and performance KPIs and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Acting as an escalation point for operational issues involving commercial applications and platforms.
  • Working with internal technology teams, support functions and external vendors to resolve recurring issues and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Supporting senior IT & Data leadership in shaping and executing the wider commercial digital agenda.

Your Background

We are looking for someone who combines strong commercial understanding with technology and digital experience.

Ideally, you bring:

  • Experience within IT Business Partnering, Commercial Digital, Digital Transformation, Commercial Analytics, or a commercial position with significant technology responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of Sales, Marketing, Revenue Growth Management or wider Commercial Operations.
  • Experience working with commercial technologies such as CRM, trade promotion management, revenue management, sales effectiveness, marketing technology, reporting or business intelligence platforms.
  • Strong ability to translate business challenges into technology, digital and data requirements.
  • Experience managing and influencing senior commercial stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and an analytical, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Experience working cross-functionally across areas such as Sales, Marketing, Finance and Commercial Operations.
  • Ability to operate independently within a complex, international and matrix organisation.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder-management capabilities.

Experience working within European or global digital programmes, product-based technology organisations or large-scale commercial transformation initiatives would be highly beneficial.

The Opportunity

The organisation is currently transforming how its commercial technology capabilities are structured and delivered across Europe.

As part of this transformation, technology capabilities are increasingly managed at a European level while this position remains embedded within the local business. You will ensure that local Commercial teams continue to receive the proximity, support and strategic technology partnership they require.

You will become an important link between local Commercial leadership and European technology teams, influencing future roadmaps and ensuring that digital and data investments deliver measurable business value.

This is an initial 9-month assignment with an ASAP start. The role offers a hybrid working model, with typically 2–3 days per week in the office, depending on business requirements.

The position has no direct reports, but offers significant ownership, autonomy and exposure to senior stakeholders across both the local and European organisation.
