Job Description

A global life sciences organisation is seeking 2 experienced EI&C Instrumentation Engineers to support instrumentation engineering activities at its Visp site. The role focuses on the design and specification of instrumentation and field devices for process, utility, and infrastructure systems, with responsibilities spanning engineering documentation, field device integration, commissioning, startup, and GMP qualification activities.
In this role, you will work closely with Automation, Process Engineering, Maintenance, Validation, Quality, and Project teams to ensure instrumentation systems meet company standards, GMP requirements, and applicable industry standards. The position is fully site-based in Visp and is offered initially for one year, with the possibility of extension.

Essential Requirements

· Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline
· Proven experience in instrumentation engineering within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, or regulated manufacturing environments
· Strong knowledge of instrumentation design, field devices, calibration principles, and process measurements
· Experience with measurement technologies including pressure, temperature, flow, level, analytical measurements, and control valves
· Experience creating and maintaining instrument data sheets, loop diagrams, instrument indexes, and calibration/maintenance data
· Experience with engineering documentation and data management in COMOS
· Knowledge of DCS, PLC, SIS, and process control systems and field device integration
· Experience with commissioning, loop testing, functional testing, and startup support
· Familiarity with GMP environments and GxP documentation requirements
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
· Ability to work in accordance with change control, data integrity, and validation requirements
· Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
· English proficiency required
· For one position: Fluent German is mandatory

Preferred Requirements

· Experience with GMP qualification activities using UBIK and Kneat
· Experience supporting IQ/OQ documentation and testing
· Experience coordinating or supervising instrumentation installation activities
· Experience supporting startup and handover activities for new and modified systems
